½ðɳ²©²Ê graduate programs have once again earned top spots in the U.S. News & World Report 2025 Best Graduate Schools rankings. The Jacobs School of Engineering climbed to No. 10 in overall engineering nationally, while the School of Medicine maintained a Tier 1 ranking in overall research. Standout programs in the School of Social Sciences in political science (8), psychology (14) and economics (14) also received high marks. These honors reflect ½ðɳ²©²Ê’s commitment to academic excellence and conducting research that drives global impact.
Bringing New Voices to Light
At the Wagner New Play Festival, held April 25 to May 17, ½ðɳ²©²Ê’s graduate student playwrights will premiere five plays that explore the spectrum of emotions involved in motherhood, friendship, romantic entanglements and living authentically. The nationally recognized showcase brings together Ph.D. and undergraduate actors, directors, designers, stage managers and more to create a series of unforgettable shows.

Scientists and engineers from ½ðɳ²©²Ê and General Atomics have announced a groundbreaking collaboration to establish a Fusion Data Science and Digital Engineering Center in San Diego. The new center sets the stage for even deeper collaborations in advanced digital engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning and high-performance computing as part of a multi-step effort to fast-track fusion energy development and bolster California’s leadership in fusion research and innovation.
